New York City FC, now even the playoffs would be at risk

The New York City FC offseason has been very quiet so far. The only news, or at least the main ones, concerned the players who left. There is no doubt that the team has weakened a lot. As of today, New York City FC could hardly make it to the playoffs. With so many players leaving and others, like Heber, returning after a long injury, the future of the Pigeons is increasingly uncertain. New York City FC would have a lot to do to fill the void left by those who left the team. For the moment, however, there is little news and, above all, there are no rumors about possible arrivals of players who could really make a difference.

New York City FC badly needs functional players and stars. At the moment, in the New York roster, only Maxi Moralez can be called a star. The Argentine is the player with the most experience and who has played at high levels in other leagues as well. On the other hand, however, Maxi Moralez is no longer very young and is nearing the end of his career. We don't even know if he will be able to play all the games scheduled for next season.

This means that, for now, New York City FC would find itself with no ready alternatives to Maxi, but not even to Heber who will return but has yet to recover his best condition.

The hope is that the club will soon be able to move and sign the players New York really needs. Otherwise the championship risks being complicated right now.
