New era for New York City FC: Saturday debut against Orlando City

Next Saturday against Orlando City there will be the debut of New York City FC in MLS 2019. The long awaited moment has arrived. We waited so much for the start of the season and finally we are there.

After months of great anticipation and divided between the sadness of David Villa's farewell and the great attention to what was happening in the transfer market, a new era is officially starting for New York City FC. There is great curiosity about Domenec Torrent's team and how he will react after the Spanish striker's departure.

During the various preseason games, New York City FC did not shine, alternating performances where the team was blocked, to others where instead it was lighter and played with fluency but not very effective in attack. 

This at least until the arrival of Alexandru Mitrita. The young Romanian striker has immediately left his mark in the two games he played. Good technique, fast player and with the right features not to regret David Villa. We do not want to make comparisons between the two, they are different players, with a different story and a different career. 

New York City FC now only needs a striker who can score. Mitrita has already proven to do so, now New York expects he can start well against Orlando right away. The comparisons can be made in a few years, but in the meantime New York City focuses on Mitrita.
