Gorgeous performance for New York City FC against Toronto FC. The Blues have won with merit and advance to the next round. We have to admit, we didn't believe that New York could advance so much and instead, the Blues are surprising everyone. Since how the season started and how it resumed after the lockdown, we weren't optimistic about the Blues' path. Still, it seems to see a totally different team. In addition to having a good physical condition, Ronny Deila's hand on the team is also seen.
New York City FC plays more easily and the players on the pitch know what they need to do. At the beginning of the season there was some 'confusion' on the pitch. Now the players seem to have understood what Ronny Deila asks of them and they follow him in everything. The results have been seen in the last two games, but especially against Toronto FC. City dominated and deserved to win. Too bad for the goal conceded at the end of the match, but it is undoubtedly the best performance of the team since Ronny Deila was there as a coach.
New York then took revenge against Toronto and went on waiting to meet the next opponent. New York City FC will face the winners of FC Cincinnati vs. Portland Timbers on Saturday, August 1.
