Fresh off a stoppage-time win over New York City FC in the Concacaf Champions League, Tigres UANL returned to Liga MX play and defeated FC Juarez, 3-2, Saturday night at Estadio Universitario in Monterrey.

The match was one of four Saturday night played behind closed doors, “as a preventive and prudent measure,” by the Ministry of Heath of Mexican government and Liga MX amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Tigres trailed, 1-0, on a 28th-minute goal by Dario Lezcano, but leveled on an Ivan Vazquez own goal in the 51st minute and took the lead through Andre-Pierre Gignac seven minutes later.

Eduardo Vargas, who scored the stoppage-time winner against NYCFC, netted the winner in the 76th minute as Tigres moved up to sixth in the Clausura table.

The second leg of the CCL quarterfinals between Tigres and NYCFC will be played at Estadio Universitario. The date, though, has yet to be announced with Concacaf announcing a 30-day suspension of the competition amid the coronavirus pandemic.
