Antoine Griezmann has decided to continue his career in the United States. The French striker will leave Atlético de Madrid in the summer of 2026 to sign with Orlando City, a Major League Soccer club that has officially announced the agreement for the World Cup winner's arrival during the summer transfer window. The agreement, reached with the mediation of director Ricardo Moreira, includes a contract until the end of the 2027-28 season, with an option for an additional year. The Florida club will register the player as a Designated Player once the bureaucratic procedures are completed, including a medical examination, international transfer certificate, and work visa.

Griezmann explained his decision as follows: “I am excited to begin this new chapter with Orlando City. From the first contacts, I sensed great ambition and a clear vision for the future. I am eager to make Orlando my new home and give my all to help the team achieve great things.”

The Frenchman, who will turn 35, is bidding farewell to Europe after a stellar career with Real Sociedad, FC Barcelona, and, above all, Atlético de Madrid, where he is the all-time leading scorer with 211 goals. In total, he has amassed 792 appearances at club level, scoring 298 goals and providing 132 assists. His trophy cabinet includes, among others, the Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup, the Copa del Rey, and the Segunda División title.

With the French national team, he was instrumental in their victory at the 2018 World Cup and the 2021 Nations League, as well as reaching the final in 2022. In 2024, he announced his retirement from 'Les Bleus,' concluding his time with the national team with 137 caps, 44 goals, and 38 assists. Now, a new adventure awaits him across the Atlantic.
