Messi: "I took the penalty very poorly. Winning the World Cup? We have the idea."

Lionel Messi, who scored twice against Austria, spoke after the match at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, after winning the Man of the Match award.

“There's a lot of happiness; it was a very intense match. We got a good result; we wanted to win to have a calm week, and we're happy about that. We're happy to have won both games; every World Cup game is tough, complicated, and nobody gives you anything. Sometimes there are moments during the ninety minutes, but they were never dangerous; it was never a difficult match from that perspective. We wanted to play fast, and we did it; it was really important to qualify. It's never easy, but Argentina was able to do it.”

"The whole team is pulling together. We don't care if we're playing tournaments or friendlies, we enjoy being together. We like making people happy, sharing their joy.
