NYCFC may pursue former Vancouver Whitecaps player

Possible return to MLS for Ali Adnan. The Iraqi player left Rubin Kazan and is now a free agent free to sign for any team- Adnan played in Serie A for Udinese and Atalanta before moving to Vancouver Whitecaps where he stayed for two seasons before returning to Europe in Denmark and later in Russia. Adnan would like to return to MLS, he has expressed this desire several times.

The question is whether he would be useful to NYCFC. He is technically a very gifted player, and can play multiple roles in defense. Gifted with a good left-footed shot, Adnan proved to be a good player both in defense and in attack. If NYCFC is thinking about him we can say he would do well but only for the bench. Adnan could be a good asset in rotations, a player who would give more depth to the team.
