NYCFC rebuild will be without the Ring leader

Alex Ring's departure from New York City FC has rocked the whole Blues scene. The City captain leaves after four seasons, having proven on and off the pitch that he is a team leader. The news of his farewell clearly surprised everyone. No one imagined that Ring could leave New York, yet we were wrong. The captain leaves leaving, for the moment, a great void in the team.

A departure that disrupts New York's plans. Also this year the City stopped at the best in the playoffs and left the Concacaf Champions League after suffering humiliation from Tigres UANL. The season was a failure. The objectives were not achieved and were ruined in half. Although the team has made many efforts, has overcome many difficulties related to Covid-19 and many injuries, New York had shown great character thanks also to Ring, one of the leaders of the team.

New York City FC is now without a man who made club history. It will not be easy to restart, especially because the team needs to be rebuilt and having a leader like Ring in the locker room would have helped a lot. Ring would have been one of those players who should have conveyed the right mentality, the attachment to the team to the new ones who will arrive. None of this. Ring is gone and the New York season ended even more in the worst way.
