That Sean Johnson was the man of the match in the Hudson River Derby is certainly pleased. The New York City FC goalkeeper is proving to be one of the best in the league. On the other hand, however, this highlights even more the difficulties encountered by the Blues who in the end came out defeated in one of the most anticipated matches of the year by the fans. If the award to Johnson is still a source of pride, for New York City FC it is also a wake-up call. The Blues suffered too much aggression from the Bulls and only Johnson's saves managed to keep Deila's team in the game until the final whistle.

Unfortunately, the team thwarted Johnson's excellent performance by at least failing to equalize a game that was the most important for the fans and which will probably go down in history for the worst New York City FC derby played at Yankee Stadium.
