The United States is out of the World Cup. The Netherlands eliminated the USA in the round of 16, in a match played not badly by the USA in the end but in which the experience and some individualities that Holland has and which the United States lack instead prevailed.

That of the USA was not an exciting World Cup. There is still a lot of work to do for Berhalter's team. Against the Netherlands, the USA played the perfect match… but for their opponents. The team created chances but didn't exploit them. Netherlands, on the other hand, was cynical, scoring two practically identical goals with Depay and Blind and Dumfries' third goal closed the match. World Cup finished.

The USA immediately turn the page and prepare for the next World Cup to be played in America. USA has everything to be one of the revelation teams in 2026. The team is young, there is excellent potential that must improve and the mentality must also change. The USA was naive against Holland. To get to 2026, these defects must be filed away in order to have a better chance of success.

The road is long and the work is so much to do. However, the USA must compete with level opponents. In view of the next World Cup, it will be necessary to play friendly matches against strong opponents. Matches that can help the team grow especially in terms of mentality.
