The announcement of the new stadium kicked off something of a restructuring of New York City FC. Confirmation also came from the choices made in recent weeks regarding the transfer market. The best pieces of the team have gone, it's as if in 2023 City will reset everything to start a new cycle.
However, it will be essential to understand what the future of Sean Johnson will be. There is no news about him. The goalkeeper can sign at any time with any team and there is certainly no shortage of interested clubs in MLS. New York City FC must come to an agreement with Johnson as soon as possible to avoid losing another key player on its roster.
There is no news of talks or agreements between the parties. The hope is that something will unlock in the next few days to start rebuilding a team that, at least for the moment, is not competitive.
