Keaton Parks returning to Benfica after year with New York City FC loan

Keaton Parks will be returning to Portuguese side Benfica in December after his impressive loan spell this season with New York City FC, according to Portuguese outlet Diario de Transferencias.

After a slow start to his season-long loan, Parks found his rhythm as spring turned to summer and earned a place in coach Dome Torrent's starting XI 14 times after June 29.

In total, Parks made 22 MLS appearances as a central midfielder for the Cityzens, registering a goal and an assist before an injury sidelined the Plano, Texas, native late in the campaign. He did return to make one playoff appearance.
