New York City FC continues to work in the pre-season ahead of the upcoming MLS championship. Nick Cushing spoke about the state of the team after the friendlies played against Minnesota United, San Jose Earthquakes and LAFC:
“We have players from the first team, some from our MLS II team, and players from the Academy as well – players who we really feel have real potential to go into the future of NYCFC.
It was great to bring that group of players together. The senior leaders - Maxime Chanot, Alfredo Morales, Thiago Martins - have really led this group, helping younger players, working off the pitch to make sure this group keeps moving forward and continues to be a team that is progressing as we think We are recruiting other players. This is a really exciting group".
