Santiago Rodriguez: "Ledezma and I could always play together"

Santiago Rodríguez scored a brace in NYCFC's triumph against FC Dallas on Saturday, but the New York star admits he still needs improvement:

"He's fantastic," said Rodríguez, star of the match. “Ledezma and I could always play together. He is a similar player to me. He has a lot of similar qualities to mine and we feel very comfortable playing together."

Rodriguez admitted he had to adjust his role, but says he sees the benefits of changing positions.

"I honestly had my doubts about the position Nick Cushing chose for me," he explained. It's a little different than what I'm used to. I felt uncomfortable in the first couple of minutes and, more than anything else, I was frustrated with not having the ball. After that, I started adapting more to the game, and that served me well to get the two goals."
