New York City FC lost at Yankee Stadium against the New England Revolution. A game played subdued by Ronny Deila's team that never seemed to be in the middle of the game. New York City FC did not do great things, also thanks to the Revs who defended well and proved to be concrete by making the most of the opportunities they had. Only Sean Johnson's saves avoided a major liability to the New York team. New York City FC has taken a marked step back from previous games in which the Blues had shone by playing good soccer.

Only in the final of the game did NYCFC show signs of growth with Callens' goal, but by now it was too late. NYCFC needs fresh and more ideas to develop the game. The hope is that Maxi Moralez can return as soon as possible, and the club should also think about finding someone on the market who can give greater confidence to a team that appeared without ideas and without players capable of making a difference.
