Nick Cushing on Tayvon Gray's condition: 'He's still working, but it will be difficult for him'

Nick Cushing shared an update on Tayvon Gray, who suffered a minor abdominal injury on the opening day trip to Nashville SC, confirming the setback wasn't serious.

"Tayvon is still working," explained the head coach. “We are not 100% ruling it out. It will be hard for him, it will be hard for him. He obviously he recovered during the game and had this abdominal discomfort. It's nothing we're incredibly worried about. We know our medical team will be working with him. He is aware of collecting these little things. One thing I can say about Tayvon is: he is incredibly determined and focused on making sure he doesn't lose matches. He missed the Philadelphia game last year with an injury. He is incredibly focused and is working very hard to make sure this doesn't become a regular occurrence. We as a medical team, and as a performance team have to make sure we do our part and make sure we give him every chance to be available for as many training sessions and matches as possible. He's a young player, so he needs to play."
