Cushing: "We are happy with the return of Sands, he is hungry for success with NYCFC"

James Sands has returned to New York City FC after playing on loan for Rangers Glasgow. Nick Cushing commented on his return to New York:

"Everyone is really, really happy to have James back," said the coach. “Me personally, I'm incredibly happy and excited to have James.

“We're trying to embed an identity and to have a guy who's been developed within our system — who's Homegrown, who's been a part of the previous successful years — who's also gone away, and been in an environment in which it is only going to benefit him, playing in the Europa League final, playing in Champions League matches: Ajax, Liverpool… We have a boy, who is not only a really, really good footballer, but now he has a new mentality and incredibly improved being in that environment.

“So, everyone is really happy. He trained really well today, and one thing I can tell him is: he's really, really hungry to continue to be successful with New York City".
