Belgium publishes an announcement for the search for the new coach

Looking for a coach. Belgium has decided to rely on a job advertisement, published on the Football Federation website, to find the replacement for Roberto Martinez, who has decided to leave after the clamorous elimination in the group stage in Qatar, on the Diavoli Rossi bench. Not a novelty for Belgium, which in 2016 had already looked for the replacement of Marc Wilmots in the same way and also the Ivory Coast and Cameroon in the past had used a similar strategy.

The profile of the new coach, reads the announcement, must be "definitely ambitious, with international experience at the highest world levels, knowledge and tactical ideas, as well as adequate personal skills. We are looking for a serial winner with experience in managing the best players in the world". The curriculum of those interested must be sent to the Belgian Football Federation by 10 January 2023.

At the moment the names being chosen to replace Martinez are those of Michel Preud'homme, Hein Vanhaezebrouck, Philippe Clement, Thierry Henry, Louis van Gaal, Thomas Vermaelen and Vincent Kompany.
