We have to admit it. There was a bit of envy to see LAFC win the MLS Cup. Last year New York City FC won against Portland always on penalties, this year it was LAFC's turn in a thrilling game that ended with their success.

Without dwelling on the technical aspect of the match, what stood out personally in our eyes was the enthusiasm of the fans. It is no comparison between LAFC and NYCFC fans. Blues fans are priceless, unique and if New York has achieved so many successes in recent seasons, much of the credit goes to them.

Rather, it emphasized even more how important it is for New York City FC to have its own stadium. In the Banc of California final, the passion and enthusiasm of the fans had a tremendous impact on the match. A similar stadium in New York with City fans would be something unique, incredible. Imagining such a scenario in New York would give a big boost to the team and a lot of fear to the opponents.

Such a stadium would guarantee New York City FC at least a minimum of 10 points more per season, in addition to dragging the team towards trophy and title victories through the heat of the fans.

There has been talk for too long about how much New York City FC needs its own stadium. Yankee Stadium is an icon, but it still remains a baseball stadium. Playing at the Red Bull Arena is not pleasant, Citi Field would be a good compromise, but New York City FC needs its own stadium.

When will the new stadium be built? We don't know, every end of the season we talk about possible areas where to build the stadium. There is nothing concrete, but he is sure that New York City FC with its own stadium would leave the crumbs to the opponents.
