A possible twist in the New York City FC transfer market. Without a doubt, the Blues are suffering a lot from the absence of Taty Castellanos. Immediately after his farewell, the team reacted well, the Pigeons won games and scored several goals. Over the weeks, however, the desire to prove that New York was the same team even without Castelannos has faded.

The truth is instead that Castellanos has left an incredible void in attack and inside the City dressing room. New York City FC appears to have entered a dark and endless tunnel. The team has a hard time scoring and winning games. This season may seem irrecoverable by now, but next year some situations may change.

According to reports, New York City FC is looking at a possible reinforcement for the attack in Europe. In particular, the Blues would be thinking about Memphis Depay. The Dutch striker is not part of Barcelona's plans. During the summer Depay seemed to be one step away from Juventus, but then the deal fell through as the player himself raised the demands for him.

At the moment Depay lives separately at home in Barcelona. For him there is no space, for Xavi,  Lewandowski is the main striker of the team. Despite Barça playing in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Champions League, Depay no longer has a place in the team.

Depay's contract with Barcelona expires in June 2023. Barça may decide to sell him in January, but it is possible that the player can break free at the end of the year and try a new adventure. In Depay's future, there could be MLS and especially New York City FC which is desperately looking for a striker.
