British journalist Martin Liberman says Lionel Messi's future may not lie in Europe.

The reporter did not want to ramble on any information that could hinder the next steps of the Barcelona man, but made it clear that there was a definitive offer from an MLS club. "There is something that is defined with the owner of Inter Miami, the plan is to end his career at Inter Miami FC with an extravagant salary," Liberman said on his radio show.

"He can enjoy the tranquility of Florida and the beauty of Miami, where Messi already has an apartment in the Porsche Design Tower.

Messi had hoped he would end his career in the United States and was told of a pre-contractual agreement with Inter Miami president Marcelo Claure so that he could end his career there".

Liberman's statements, if true, could extinguish New York City FC fans' dreams of seeing Messi play for the Blues.
