Orlando City SC are close to signing Portuguese winger Nani from Portugal’s Sporting CP, a source told MLSsoccer.com, confirming a report from Portugal's Record.

Negotiations are in the final stages to bring the 32-year-old former Manchester United standout to Orlando, where he reportedly will be signed to a Designated Player contract.

Nani scored seven goals and added four assists in 18 appearances for Sporting, which according to reports out of Portugal, want to shed about €4 million  off their books before next season.

The club also just terminated Fredy Montero’s contact, opening the door for the Colombian to return to the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Nani, who has 24 goals in 112 appearances for Portugal, also played for Fenerbahce, Valencia and Lazio (loan) after scoring 25 times in 147 all-time games for Manchester United from 2007-15.
