The confirmation of Nick Cushing as New York City FC head coach is a strong sign of continuity for the Pigeons. Cushing arrived in New York to replace Ronny Deila, a completely new situation for everyone. The beginning was not easy, Cushing found himself coaching a team that he did not know and that had also seen the most important player of him leave, Taty Castellanos transferred to Girona. A new and also very complicated situation.

Nick Cushing's start as an interim NYCFC manager was very painful. The team was struggling to find the good game, could not win seemed to be in crisis. Here we saw all of Cushing's skill. Nick was good at not losing control of the team, at bonding the players even more with each other. Cushing compacted the team, making it solid and determined to change gears. The work was fully successful.

Cushing, with his work, dragged the team towards the victory of the Campeones Cup and the Hudson River Derby, key moments of the NYCFC season and of Cushing's work. Since then New York City FC has improved in performance and results. In the playoffs the Pigeons managed to annihilate Inter Miami, perhaps in one of the best games of the season. NYCFC then retaliated against CF Montreal, but then the team's path stopped against Philadelphia Union in those minutes that were fatal.

But a few moments do not spoil a season played at high levels by New York City FC led by Nick Cushing between more or less difficult moments in which the team held their heads high. Now the confirmation of Cushing, a deserved confirmation from the coach.
