Losing a derby always hurts, but losing it like it did at Yankee Stadium is even worse. Many fans expressed their disappointment both at the end of the match and the day after, especially on social media. New York City FC provided a poor performance. It is no coincidence that Tinnerholm spoke of "the worst derby played at Yankee Stadium".

The Blues seemed to have no precise ideas, little aggression, a lot of ball movement but sterile. The opportunities came towards the end of the game, too late to be able to think of recovering a game lost at the start on a tactical level.

New York City FC, while playing in front of their fans, failed to impose their own pace on the game with all the consequences of the case. Many fans have lashed out at Ronny Deila, the main suspect for the New York flop in the derby.

The danger is that losing such an important game and doing it in this way could leave heavy waste within the team that still has to fight a lot to achieve its goals.

Ronny Deila will have to work hard to restore serenity to the team and among the fans. New York City FC can do it, but honestly we need an immediate change of course.
