While the likes of Carlos Vela and Zlatan Ibrahimović grab headlines across the league, New York City FC forward Héber is quietly lighting things up.

Héber’s 54th-minute goal against Sporing KC, a quality finish after a quick turnaround, would set a record for New York City FC as Héber became the first City player to score in five consecutive Major League Soccer games, a number he aims to extend against Real Salt Lake next week.

The Brazilian’s arrival to MLS was one that had a lot riding on it. Signed as the replacement to the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, Héber has not disappointed thus far.

Scoring nine goals in eleven starts, Héber has proven to be one of the most effective forwards around the league.
