In a penalty shootout, one team gets to pick the side the teams shoot on, but on Wednesday, fans at Exploria Stadium ensured there was a homefield advantage in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal clash between Orlando City and NYCFC.

With the shootout set to take place on the opposite side of the stadium from "The Wall," the Orlando City supporters section, after the teams finished 120 minutes of play tied 1-1, those in attendance wanted to see the action up close, and took action.

Fans flooded into the opposite end of the stadium behind the goal being used, and after stadium security initially tried to limit fans from moving into that area of the stadium, since it was closed off the rest of the match, they relented, as a wave of supporters flooded into the end.

The result? Orlando won the shootout 5-4, and while the players who converted their penalties and Lions goalkeeper Adam Grinwis did their part, the raucous support from the home side to push their team to advance surely made it an unforgettable moment in Orlando City and U.S. Open Cup history.
