New York City FC hope to rebound from back-to-back league defeats Saturday night when they take on a resurgent Colorado Rapids side that has lost just once in their last nine games.

The Rapids (5-10-5) rallied from a pair of deficits to rally for a 2-2 draw with the Portland Timbers Saturday night at Providence Park. One minute after a Tommy Smith own goal put the Timbers in front, Jonathan Lewis leveled fo the Rapids. Diego Valeri gave the hosts the lead again from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute, but Sam Nicholson equalized 13 minutes to secure a road point.

NYCFC (7-3-8) dropped their second consecutive game, a controversial 2-1 defeat to the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena Sunday. Heber gave the Cityzens an early lead, but Danny Royer leveled from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time and then headed in the go-ahead goal on the hour mark, capitalizing on a quickly-taken throw-in after assistant referee Corey Rockwell signaled for a corner kick. After, referee Alan Kelly said he overruled Rockwell's decision and said he indicated that verbally.
