New York City FC has acquired defender Eric Miller from Minnesota United in exchange for $50,000 General Allocation Money (“GAM”).

Miller has appeared 24 times for MNUFC since joining from the Colorado Rapids in 2018.

NYCFC Sporting Director Claudio Reyna said: “One of our goals during the summer transfer window was to add depth at the right back position and Eric is a player who can come in and immediately strengthen our team.

“He’s a versatile player who performs well in different positions which gives our roster added flexibility when playing varying systems.

“Eric brings with him over 100 games of MLS experience and is exactly the type of person who fits into the culture we’ve built here at NYCFC.”

In 2017, Miller played 30 matches for Colorado and was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year. The 26-year-old Minnesota native helped anchor a Rapids defense in 2016 that finished runners-up in the Supporters’ Shield standings.

Miller has appeared in 110 league matches since beginning his career with the Montreal Impact in 2014.
